The holidays are so much fun when you have kids! Honestly, I think I like this season even more as an adult, than I did as a child.
I’d much rather witness the joy and sense of wonder that spreads across the faces of my children as they experience things such as viewing huge Christmas light displays, tasting homemade gingerbread cookies, watching holiday movies, and spending time creating fun holiday crafts.
We like to keep it simple when it comes to crafts. Although my boys enjoy art, and the hands-on aspect of creating their own crafts, they are also active boys, who have a hard time sitting still for too long. Plus, I’m not the craftiest mom in the world, so simple and quick is our motto when it comes to these types of activities.
Luckily, this craft is just that — quick and simple (and adorable).
What you need:
- Construction paper (brown)
- Googly eyes
- Pom-pom (red)
- Tape or glue
Start by cutting the brown construction paper into 2 inch strips. (You can certainly make them thinner or wider, but we stuck with this size because it worked well)…
Tape (or glue) two of the strips of paper together to form the base of the hat, using your child’s head as a guide for size.
On another sheet of construction paper, trace your child’s hands.
Then, cut out the hands, and attach them to the base. These will be the reindeer antlers.
Finally, add googly eyes and a red pom-pom nose to complete the face of the reindeer.
That’s it! Simple, right?!
