As with most families, mine has several holiday traditions that we cherish each year. From viewing local light displays and making homemade gingerbread cookies, to watching our favorite holiday films and creating fun crafts together, we look forward to these special times spent with the people we care about most.
I’m not the craftiest mom in the world, but my kids thoroughly enjoy art and crafts, especially around the holidays, so I’m always looking for simple ideas that don’t require a lot of time or materials. My favorite craft projects are ones that become keepsakes, allowing us to use them for decoration and nostalgia year after year.
This quick and easy reindeer craft is one of my family’s favorites. It only takes a few minutes to complete, and kids of all ages absolutely adore it.
How to make a reindeer hat
Step 1: Cut a sheet of brown construction paper into several 2 inch strips.
Step 2: Tape (or glue) two of the construction paper strips together, to form the base of the reindeer hat. Use your child’s head as a guide for the size.
Step 3: On another sheet of brown construction paper, trace your child’s hands.
Step 4: Cut out the hands, and attach them to the base of the reindeer hat. These will become the antlers.
Step 5: Add googly eyes and a red pom-pom nose to complete the face of the reindeer. Hand over the adorable hat to your little one, and enjoy the cuteness.
